Saturday (3/24): 9.16 miles, 11:00 min./mi., 1:40:45

blerg. im so bad at updated this. mostly because i don’t want to spend anymore time than i have to in front of a computer. once i get all caught up and the posts queue up correctly, then i’ll make more of an effort to do it every sunday. until then - sorry.
the run on saturday was my first one in the rain. i’ve always avoided the rain. rain didn’t mean putting on a hat and jacket and hitting the pavement. no, it meant sleeping in, drinking hot chocolate and lounging around my apartment with my boyfriend and cat. anyways, to make a long story longer, i went out and bought this jacket. it was pretty perfect! it kept me dry and warm, and although it looks bulky, it is actually theopposite!  i wear it all the time now. no, really -all the time.
anyways, so it was supposed to be a run from chrissy field to somewhere on embarcadero, but i had a group of people that were running different distances, so i adjusted the pre-planned route to go towards fisherman’s wharf for a while, and then backtrack all the way to the bottom of the bridge.  i somehow miscalculated and ended up being about a half mile short so i basically made everyone run in circles. whoops. at least it had stopped raining by then. i never said i was good with maps or directions.
i actually enjoyed running in the rain. it’s my new favorite! i think it makes it mentally easier to complete a run that you would normally question your ability on (with hills, or distance, etc.) because you just want to get on with it, bang out the distance, and be able to get warm and dry.  normally, you (well, at least me) worry about water, fueling, aches and pains, the hills… and it is just harder to get in “the zone.”
